Tue October 4 ’05 – L’shana Tova!
submitted by Steve

Happy New Year everyone! Today’s Rosh Hashanah and for me that means a fresh start. It’s a week of fresh starts. A fresh start for NHL hockey tomorrow – those in Canada with TSN can watch us sing the anthem – and a fresh start for BNL, as we have started making our new album.

We have a ton of material – Ed and I already had a bunch of songs, and then we finished another 10 during a weeklong intensive writing session at Ed’s cottage. And there’s more coming. Plus, Kev and Jim have a bunch of songs, too. Right now we’re rehearsing; we’re learning the songs, coming up with arrangements, trying to decide what this album is going to sound like. In a couple of weeks, we’ll head off into the wilderness and start recording this stuff. Hopefully by the time we’re on the road in November/December, we’ll have some new songs to play for you.

Music is a pretty liberating and exciting place to be right now, especially when we have the freedom to release what we want when we want, or the freedom to take our time and make the album we want to make – there are so many possibilities of how we can get new music out to you right now, and we promise to make it a fun ride!

Hope you and yours have a happy & healthy!
